Bloomington University is thrilled to announce its inaugural graduation ceremony, a momentous occasion that will see over 500 graduates from more than 40 countries receive their degrees in what promises to be a celebration of academic achievement, cultural diversity, and the beginning of exciting new chapters.
This landmark event marks the culmination of years of hard work, dedication, and perseverance by our pioneer cohort of students who chose to begin their academic journey with Bloomington University. As they prepare to step into the next phase of their lives, they carry with them not only their degrees but the skills, knowledge, and global perspectives that will shape their futures.

A Celebration of Global Diversity
One of the most remarkable aspects of this graduating class is its incredible diversity. Students from over 40 countries across six continents have studied together, learned from each other, and formed lifelong connections. The ceremony will feature:
- Flag Parade: Graduates will process carrying the flags of their home countries, creating a stunning visual representation of our global community
- Multilingual Celebrations: Key ceremony elements will be conducted in English, Dutch, Spanish, and Papiamentu, reflecting CuraƧao's multicultural heritage
- Cultural Performances: Students will showcase traditional music and dance from their home cultures
- International Alumni Network Launch: Official inauguration of BU's global alumni association

Information for Graduates & Families
For Graduating Students
- Registration: All eligible graduates must register through the Student Portal by February 15, 2026
- Academic Regalia: Caps, gowns, and hoods will be provided; measurements required by January 31, 2026
- Rehearsal: Mandatory graduation rehearsal will be held the day before the ceremony
- Guest Tickets: Each graduate will receive four complimentary guest tickets
For Families & Guests
- Travel Assistance: Special hotel rates negotiated with local partners for international guests
- Visa Support: Letter of invitation available for guests requiring visa documentation
- Live Stream: The ceremony will be live-streamed for those unable to attend in person
- Reception: A celebratory reception with Caribbean cuisine will follow the ceremony
